Angela Fitch, MD, president of the Obesity Medicine Association, details what to look forward to this year in terms of obesity management.

When asked in a recent interview what clinicians should look forward to in 2024 in terms of obesity medicine and obesity management, Angela Fitch, MD, president of the Obesity Medicine Association stated, "I hope that they would look forward to a day when comprehensive obesity care—we're talking about help with behavior changes, lifestyle intervention, dietitian coverage—is accessible to patients to help them accomplish their weight management goals."

In the conversation below, Dr Fitch discusses the importance of obesity care becoming a standard benefit on all insurance in 2024.


Dr Fitch is also the founder and chief medical officer at knownwell and the former co-director of the Massachusetts General Hospital Weight Center and faculty at Harvard Medical School.
