How many cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed in the US?

According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, December 15, 2020 at 11:26 AM, EDT, there have been:

• 16 545 465 confirmed cases
• 301 264 deaths
• 6 298 082 recoveries

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. California: 1 612 100
2. Texas: 1 492 468
3. Florida: 1 134 383
4. Illinois: 856 118
5. New York: 784 204

Deaths: New York has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 35 427 reported fatalities, followed by Texas with 24 444 deaths, and California with 21 151.

Recoveries: Texas leads in recoveries from COVID-19 with 1 185 628 people who have recovered, followed by Tennessee with 394 147 recoveries and Ohio with 392 565.

Tests administered: California leads in number of persons tested with 27 552 039 people tested, followed by New York with 22 122 139 people tested, and Florida with 13 936 200 people tested.

How many cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed globally?

Globally, there have been 73 070 972 confirmed cases, 1 626 712 deaths, and 47 360 708 recoveries.
