A member of the board of the American Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation highlights the breadth of his practice.

Physiatrist Atul Patel, MD, is vice president at the Kansas City Bone and Joint Clinic in Kansas City, MO where his role as the only nonsurgical specialist in the group taps his broad experience as a PM&R generalist.

Patel is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation, spinal cord medicine, neuromuscular medicine, brain injury medicine, and electrodiagnostic medicine.

He spoke with Patient Care recently about the scope of his practice at the clinic, a conversation that offers primary care clinicians a primer on the wide range of patients they might consider for referral to a PM&R clinic nearby.

Atul Patel, MD, is a physiatrist and current treasurer of the Board of Governors of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
