For finger lacerations, a latex examinationglove can serve as a substitutefor a tourniquet. Snip off the fingertipof the glove, and instruct the patientto put it on the injured hand. Roll thecut latex down to the base of the laceratedfinger to temporarily halt bloodflow and keep the hand clean.
