According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, March 9, 2021 at 9:23 AM, EDT, there have been:

• 29 046 117 confirmed cases
• 525 921 deaths

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. California: 3 603 716
2. Texas: 2 699 293
3. Florida: 1 948 307
4. New York: 1 700 091
5. Illinois: 1 199 441

Deaths: California has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 54 380 reported fatalities, followed by New York with 48 401, and Texas with 45 411.

Tests administered: California leads in number of persons tested with 49 922 499 people tested, followed by New York with 39 841 556 people tested, and Florida with 22 392 896 people tested.
