According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, February 17, 2021 at 9:22 AM, EDT, there have been:

• 27 757 609 confirmed cases
• 488 103 deaths

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. California: 3 499 871
2. Texas: 2 571 129
3. Florida: 1 837 285
4. New York: 1 553 117
5. Illinois: 1 164 922

Deaths: California has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 47 510 reported fatalities, followed by New York with 46 141, and Texas with 41 386.

Recoveries*: Texas leads in recoveries from COVID-19 with 2 257 030 people who have recovered, followed by Ohio with 867 627 recoveries, and Pennsylvania with 791 328.

Tests administered: California leads in number of persons tested with 46 227 725 people tested, followed by New York with 35 353 848 people tested, and Florida with 20 666 077 people tested.
