According to early estimates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as of September 25, 2021, the SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant made up 99% of COVID-19 cases in the United States.

The CDC estimates for the week ending on September 25, 2021, the 5 states with the highest unweighted proportion of new cases attributed to the SARS-CoV-2 Delta variant are:

1. Vermont: 100%
2. Washington: 99.46%
3. Delaware: 99.41%
4. Minnesota: 99.16%
5. Massachusetts: 99.16%

How many people in the US have been vaccinated against COVID-19?

According to the CDC as of today, October 1, 2021, at 2:55 PM, EDT:

• 64.6% of total US population has received at least 1 dose
• 55.7% of total US population is fully vaccinated

The 5 states with the highest percentage of population fully vaccinated are:

1. Vermont: 69.5%
2. Connecticut: 68.8%
