US confirmed cases of COVID-19 have surpassed 7 million; global cases have reached 33 million. We summarize more of today's data from the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map.

How many cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed in the US?

According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, September 28, 2020 at 10:23 AM, EDT, there have been:

• 7 117 830 confirmed cases
• 204 778 deaths
• 2 766 280 recoveries

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. California: 810 288
2. Texas: 758 756
3. Florida: 700 564
4. New York: 455 626
5. Georgia: 314 685

Deaths: New York has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 33 131 reported fatalities, followed by New Jersey with 16 106 deaths, and Texas with 15 745.

Recoveries: Texas leads in recoveries from COVID-19 with 652 376 people who have recovered, followed by North Carolina with 176 422 recoveries and Tennessee with 175 143.

Tests administered: California leads in number of persons tested with 14 333 498 people tested, followed by New York with 10 508 186 people tested, and Texas with 6 016 907 people tested.

How many cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed globally?

Globally, there have been 33 153 664 confirmed cases, 998 674 deaths, and 22 961 150 recoveries.
