Global confirmed cases of COVID-19 have surpassed 97 million. We summarize more of today's data from the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map.

How many cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed in the US?

According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, January 22, 2021 at 10:22 AM, EDT, there have been:

• 24 643 586 confirmed cases
• 410 383 deaths

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. California: 3 100 027
2. Texas: 2 209 418
3. Florida: 1 613 884
4. New York: 1 293 719
5. Illinois: 1 086 333

Deaths: New York has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 41 787 reported fatalities, followed by California with 35 797 deaths, and Texas with 33 942.

Recoveries: Texas leads in recoveries from COVID-19 with 1 763 247 people who have recovered, followed by Ohio with 712 864 recoveries and Tennessee with 639 444.

Tests administered: California leads in number of persons tested with 39 512 756 people tested, followed by New York with 29 762 950 people tested, and Florida with 18 042 225 people tested.

How many cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed globally?

Globally, there have been 97 645 892 confirmed cases, 2 094 844 deaths, and 53 866 741 recoveries.
