Global COVID-19 mortalities have passed 2 million. We summarize more of today's data from the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map.

How many cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed in the US?

According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, January 15, 2021 at 12:22 PM, EDT, there have been:

• 23 362 050 confirmed cases
• 389 581 deaths

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. California: 2 887 678
2. Texas: 2 069 286
3. Florida: 1 531 192
4. New York: 1 193 453
5. Illinois: 1 052 682

Deaths: New York has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 40 435 reported fatalities, followed by California with 32 351 deaths, and Texas with 31 693.

Recoveries: Texas leads in recoveries from COVID-19 with 1 630 778 people who have recovered, followed by Ohio with 663 856 recoveries and Tennessee with 596 883.

Tests administered: California leads in number of persons tested with 37 130 366 people tested, followed by New York with 28 131 034 people tested, and Florida with 17 282 796 people tested.

How many cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed globally?

Globally, there have been 93 418 283 confirmed cases, 2 000 905 deaths, and 51 536 442 recoveries.
