How many cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed in the US?

According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, August 24, 2020 at 10:27 AM, EDT, there have been:

• 5 706 449 confirmed cases
• 176 819 deaths
• 1 997 761 recoveries

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. California: 670 389
2. Florida: 600 571
3. Texas: 594 331
4. New York: 429 737
5. Georgia: 253 949

Deaths: New York has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 32 883 reported fatalities, followed by New Jersey with 15 946 deaths, and California with 12 155.

Recoveries: Texas leads in recoveries from COVID-19 with 451 776 people who have recovered, followed by North Carolina with 127 749 recoveries and Louisiana with 118 120.

Tests administered: California leads in number of persons tested with 10 541 031 people tested, followed by New York with 7 621 159 people tested, and Texas with 4 668 028 people tested.

How many cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed globally?

Globally, there have been 23 464 660 confirmed cases, 809 747 deaths, and 15 169 748 recoveries.
