How many cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed in the US?

According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, August 18, 2020 at 9:27 AM, EDT, there have been:

• 5 446 233 confirmed cases
• 170 586 deaths
• 1 865 580 recoveries

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. California: 634 388
2. Florida: 576 094
3. Texas: 561 471
4. New York: 425 916
5. Georgia: 238 861

Deaths: New York has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 32 846 reported fatalities, followed by New Jersey with 15 916 deaths, and California with 11 347.

Recoveries: Texas leads in recoveries from COVID-19 with 405 817 people who have recovered, followed by North Carolina with 127 749 recoveries and Louisiana with 103 512.

Tests administered: California leads in number of persons tested with 9 933 780 people tested, followed by New York with 7 125 087 people tested, and Texas with 4 476 167 people tested.

How many cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed globally?

Globally, there have been 21 927 114 confirmed cases, 775 000 deaths, and 13 917 917 recoveries.
