COVID-19 Update: Global Confirmed Cases as of March 30, 2020

Confirmed cases of COVID-19 have surged past 100 000 in the US. Plus more COVID-19 data you should know about today. 

How many cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed globally?

According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, March 30, 2020 at 9:38 AM, there have been:

  • 740 157 confirmed cases

  • 35 097 deaths

  • 156 652 recoveries

The US still leads with the most confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 143 527 total cases to date, followed by Italy with 97 689 cases and Spain with 85 195 cases. 

Italy currently has the highest number of confirmed deaths (10 779), followed by Spain (7340) and Hubei province in China (3186). China leads in recoveries with 75 923 people who have recovered, followed by Spain with 16 780 recoveries and Iran with 13 911.

How many cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the US?

As previously stated, there are 143 532 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the US as well as 2572 deaths and 4865 recoveries.

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. New York: 60 679
2. New Jersey: 13 386
3. California: 6356
                                            4. Michigan: 5489
                                         5. Massachusetts: 4955

New York also has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 776 reported fatalities, followed by King, Washington with 144 deaths.
