How many cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed globally?
According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, April 9, 2020 at 10:49 AM, there have been:
The US continues to lead with the most confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 432 579 total cases to date, followed by Spain with 152 446 cases and Italy with 139 422 cases.
Italy has the highest number of confirmed deaths (17 669), followed by Spain (15 238) and France (10 869). China leads in recoveries with 77 679 people who have recovered, followed by Spain with 55 165 recoveries and Germany with 46 300.
How many cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the US?
As previously stated, there are now 432 579 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the US as well as 14 830 deaths and 24 213 recoveries.
The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:
1. New York: 151 079
2. New Jersey: 47 437
3. Michigan: 20 346
4. California: 19 063
5. Louisiana: 17 030
New York also has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with >4500 reported fatalities, followed by Wayne, Michigan with 446 deaths.
