COVID-19 Update: Global Cases and Recoveries as of April 17, 2020

The latest COVID-19 data on confirmed cases, recoveries, and more from the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map.

How many cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been confirmed globally?

According to the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 interactive map, as of today, April 17, 2020 at 12:38 PM, there have been:

• 2 196 109 confirmed cases
• 149 024 deaths
• 560 177 recoveries

The US continues to lead with the most confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 672 303 total cases to date, followed by Spain with 188 068 cases and Italy with 172 434 cases.

The US continues to lead in number of confirmed deaths (33 898), followed by Italy (22 745) and Spain (19 478). Germany now leads in recoveries with 81 800 people who have recovered, followed by China with 77 552 recoveries and Spain with 74 797.

How many cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the US?

As previously stated, there are now 672 303 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the US as well as 33 898 deaths and 56 243 recoveries.

The 5 states with the highest total confirmed cases are:

1. New York: 223 699
2. New Jersey: 75 317
3. Massachusetts: 32 181
                                     4. Pennsylvania29 463
                                           5. Michigan: 29 263

New York City, New York still has the most deaths due to COVID-19 with 11 477 reported fatalities, followed by Nassau, New York with 1009 deaths and Wayne, Michigan with 981.
